Hands-on Classroom Management
The Golden Ticket
In third grade, we used The Golden Ticket system of classroom management as a reward for positive behavior displayed in the classroom. We followed the "golden rule", which (in our classroom) was RESPECT. Students received a yellow ticket when they were seen displaying these behaviors. At the end of the week, students could redeem their tickets for a small treat from the "Pot of Gold." They could aslo save up their tickets and redeem them for a special surprise.

"Room 206 Rocks!"
In second grade, we used the "Room 206 Rocks!" system of classroom management. For every positive behavior students displayed, they received some "rocks" in their respective jar (either reading or homebase). If the whole class was found to be displaying a positive behavior or if they all remained on task for a specified amount of time, they received a larger amount of rocks in the jar. Students earned a class reward once the jar was filled. One of our favorites was our pajama and popcorn party!
